Week One - Welcome to Nursery

We are amazed at how great the children have settled in. We have had a few tears but these did not last long. It was lovely to see our older children and welcome them back. They have grown so much over the summer!

Our children have enjoyed having their snack together and getting to know each other.

We have been painting and drawing ourselves this week. The children have also enjoyed learning outdoors too. Our story this week have been 'Owl Babies'.

Week Three

We went on a seasons walk too. The children looked carefully at the nature around us. We collected some items from our walk including leaves, sticks and mud.  We then examined them with magnifying glasses and put them in a tray!

This week the we have thoroughly enjoyed mark making this week. The children have continued to draw themselves and some children have had a good try at practising their names.

Week Four - 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'

This week we have been hiding Billy the goat. We then used positional language to talk about where it was hiding. We also enjoyed our story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and we created some bear pictures and a bear cave.

Outdoors this week the children have loved the sand. They were trying hard to problem solve to create a big sandcastle without it breaking.

Week Five

What a fantastic week we have had. It was fantastic to see so many families at our learning together too! This week we have been learning about shapes and talking about them using the words 'big', 'small', 'round' and 'tall'. The children then noticed some shapes in the environment and described them!

The children have also enjoyed beginning to learn about harvest. This prompted and interest in farms and our farm small world is now out for the children to build upon.
