I was born in Batley but now live in Dewsbury. As a child I attended Sunday School at Batley Parish Church and have been a practising member there for many years. I was a teacher for 41 years in Horbury, Wetherby and Minorca, Spain. My varied experience in education has enabled me to be an active member of the Governing Body. I am very proud of the school and am pleased to be a part of it. My mother was a pupil from 1918 to 1926,  in the old building situated where the health centre now stands.

Phill Hamlett

I qualified as a teacher in 2005 and have worked in different schools in the Batley and Dewsbury area. I have held a number of leadership roles within schools including Assistant and Deputy Headteacher. I have also led subjects such as English, Maths, ICT and history. During the past eight years, I have been fortunate enough to sit on the Governing Body at two different schools. I am proud to be a member of staff at Batley Parish and I enjoy supporting the school in the capacity of Staff Governor.

Barbara Tomlinson

I have been a Governor of Batley Parish School for 27 years and during that time I have been both Foundation Governor and Staff Governor. I am currently a Foundation Governor and Chair of the Admissions Sub Committee. I have also been Vice Chair and Treasurer during my term of office.  I have three children all of whom attended Batley Parish School and it was through them that I first became involved in the life of the school volunteering first in Nursery and then in main school.

Robin Sykes

As a former Batley Parish pupil and father of two current pupils, I have seen Batley Parish go through many changes over a number of years. I decided to put myself forward as a parent governor in order to help ensure that any future changes were for the benefit of all children at the school. As a Chartered Engineer and project manager I have many skills that will add value to the board of governors such as financial governance, understanding of Health and Safety legislation, construction and staff recruitment. I have recently accepted the role of Chair of the Resources Committee as well as the role as Maths Governor.

Much of my spare time (if there is such a thing as a parent??) is taken up by ferrying my children from one sports club to another but if there is anytime left I enjoy watching Rugby League, playing 5-a-side football and being a keen DIY'er.
