WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND WE WILL BE UPDATING IT REGULARLY SO PLEASE KEEP CHECKING. WE APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE. THANK YOU

Welcome

We would like to give you a huge welcome to Batley Parish J, I and N C of E School. We are delighted that you have chosen Batley Parish Nursery for your child. We cannot wait for them to start with us in September.  Usually at this point we would be able to invite you to a parent’s meeting in the school where you would have the opportunity to meet your child's teacher and look around the classroom. Sadly due to COVID we are not able to offer this to you at the moment. However, we are planning a series of virtual Zoom meetings which will be informative and give you the opportunity to find out about your child's Nursery Year. In the meantime, we will keep you well informed and share lots of information on these pages. You can also look at our Nursery Twitter page (@ParishBatley) or you can find the link for this on the school home page.

A Message From Your Headteacher

Under normal circumstances starting nursery is an anxious time for all families. We understand this can often be the first time that some families have left their children. At Batley Parish, we have developed excellent systems to ensure that this important transition is as smooth as possible for children and parents. However, 2021 has been anything but normal! We will be inviting you to a virtual welcome meeting on Wednesday 1st December at 6.30pm, details of which can be found below. You will also be given a chance to come for a meeting in September. At this meeting you and your child will be able to meet the staff, have a look at our wonderful classroom environment and also ask any questions you may have.

The Virtual Welcome Meeting

We would like to invite you all to a virtual welcome meeting. This will be a Zoom meeting on Wednesday 1st December at 6.30pm. This meeting is for parents and carers to attend and will provide you with lots of information about your child starting school. We hope that it will be an informative session and we hope that you can all attend.

Here is the link for you to access the meeting.

Meet The Nursery Team

In Nursery there are two class teachers. Mrs Aka teaches Monday - Wednesday and Miss Chothia teaches Thursday and Friday.

We are very lucky to have two amazing early years practitioners working in Nursery too.

Miss Dack and Mrs Lunat have worked in Nursery for a number of years and they are fantastic at what they do.

Our Nursery Team

Mrs Aka

Hello, my name is Mrs Aka.

I have been a teacher at Batley Parish for nine years. Early Years is my passion and I am so proud to work with such a fantastic team. We pride ourselves on exciting provision areas to enable children to learn through play. I am a huge fan of outdoor learning so you will often find me in our super outdoor area!

I have two children of my own and so please believe me when I say, I know how worrying it can be to choose a new setting for your children. I can promise you, your children will receive a fantastic start with us with the most caring team!

Miss Chothia

Hello, my name is Miss Chothia

I have been a teacher at Batley Parish for 7 years. I love to teach in the EYFS alongside a truly fantastic, talented and caring team who are all passionate about the EYFS. I’m proud to be part of a team and setting that really inspires children to develop their learning through play.

I love seeing our children develop into confident and inspiring little individuals and as a team we are always thinking of ways to spark interests and inspire the childrens imaginations. I have a great love for stories and you will usually find me in our book corner or in the small world area building and role-playing stories alongside the children.

How can I prepare my child for Nursery?

Please find attached our '10 things to do before you start nursery' table below. Some of these ideas have been taken from the '50 Things to do Before 5!" App.

10 things to do

Look at some of our amazing areas in Nursery - We can't wait to show you everything when you come for your visit!

What kind of things will my child do in Nursery?

Once your child is settled in Nursery they will have a daily phonics lesson, writing and maths focus each week and at least one story and song time each session. The rest of your child's learning will be through carefully planned and targetted play to ensure all children make the best progress!

Please see below some pictures of some of our children learning through play!
