Welcome

We would like to give you a huge welcome to Batley Parish J, I and N C of E School. We are delighted that you have chosen Batley Parish Nursery for your child. We cannot wait for them to start with us.  Before your child begins at our setting we invite you in to a parent's meeting and stay and play session. This is an opportunity to meet your child's teacher and look around the provision.  You can also look at our Nursery Twitter page (@BPNursery1) or you can find the link for this on the school home page.

Welcome Information

You will find lots of useful and important documents on this page that we would normally be sharing with you in person. However, please take the time to browse through the information provided. We have tried to provide all the information that you will need to help prepare your child for starting nursery. Below you will find a copy of our School Welcome booklet that contains all of the relevant information that you need. We have also provided a copy of our Welcome meeting document which we normally share with you at the meeting. If you have any questions or queries relating to this information please contact the school office on 01924 326361 or Miss Chothia at naadhirah.chothia@kirkleeseducation.uk and we will be more than happy to help you.

Miss Chothia

Hello, my name is Miss Chothia

I have been a teacher at Batley Parish for over 8 years. I love to teach in the EYFS alongside a truly fantastic, talented and caring team who are all passionate about the EYFS. I’m proud to be part of a team and setting that really inspires children to develop their learning through play.

I love seeing our children develop into confident and inspiring little individuals and as a team we are always thinking of ways to spark interests and inspire their imaginations. I have a great love for stories and you will usually find me in our book corner or in the small world area building and role-playing stories alongside the children.

How can I prepare my child for Nursery?

Please find attached our '10 things to do before you start nursery' table below. Some of these ideas have been taken from the '50 Things to do Before 5!" App.

What kind of things will my child do in Nursery?

Once your child is settled in Nursery they will have a daily phonics lesson, writing and maths focus each week and at least one story and song time each session. The rest of your child's learning will be through carefully planned and targetted play to ensure all children make the best progress!

Please see below some pictures of some of our children learning through play!
